Thanks Melanie D. for the wake-up call! Yes, I am still here, but have been a little distracted by the lovely weather here in southern Ontario. However,I managed to get a little time at the scrap-table and have been playing with image transfers (using clear tape), which is one of my favorite techniques when I make mini-books. Here is a sample of the process and a couple of pages from the paper bag album I will be teaching at Scrapfest. Here is a picture of the pages before I placed the journaling and tape transfers:
Wait for a few minutes, then gently rub off all the paper with your fingers. Now you have a transparent image that will look great on a subtle background or printed page. See the final results below (I used gel medium to adhere the transfers and I also painted a coat on top of the image to dull the shine).
