Well it's been a while since my last update but I'm glad to report that we've been real busy creating and being creative.
On the art designed to inspire front, our latest adventure started last summer when Mario and I were invited to present our art to K&Company for licensing consideration. We took a trip to K's head office in Kansas and met with K&Company's creative leaders. I can't tell you how thrilled we were to sit in K's lovely offices and present our art to such a talented and gifted team. To then be offered an exclusive licensing opportunity with K&Company is a dream come true for us as a small art licensing company.
This is a picture of Mario and I riding the bus after our meeting. We took the bus into Kansas City and spent a relaxing day touring - the highlight was our tour of Hallmark - highly recommended if you want to be inspired by great art products from some of the top commercial artists in the world - Hallmark is a magical place. Can you tell we're happy or what!
Unfortunately with a leading licensing partner like K&Company comes a lot of work. I prefer the fun visits myself but since Mario isn't so handy with the art creation thing I had no choice but to dive right in and start clicking out new designs on my trusty Mac. Our work with K&Company's world class art department paid off this summer in the form of a new Love and Valentine papercraft product collection available at Michaels and other major retailers in time for Valentine 2011.
Here's a sneak peek:
On the family fun front, our kids continue to inspire us with their adventures. Michael is completing his masters of Architecture at Waterloo University, Andrea is putting her interior design talent to use renovating an 1867 regency cottage with her guy Ryan while Lindsay is busy training and competing in riding competitions with her beautiful horse Kyra.
Mario and I get away to our new farm in Prince Edward County every chance we can. The county as it's known is attracting lots of artistic people and entrepreneurs turning large fortunes into small ones creating wineries or other sustainable businesses. We love hanging out and meeting these innovative pioneers. Until we decide on housing we're living in an old RV overlooking one of our farm fields. It's rustic but so inspiring.
Here's a view into one of our fields.
Last but not least, we spend time with our immediate family and friends celebrating birthdays and other special events.
Well that's it. I hope you're all staying inspired and having fun too. Please feel free to send us your updates and best moments. We just love being part of this scrapbook community inspiring each other to create and have fun.
