Road trip sidenote: we're having a blast here in SoCal while it's snowy and blowy at home - the natives here think it's cold, but we think that every day is "shorts" day. One of the perks of staying at our host's beautiful property is the fresh bounty that grows on the slopes of the canyon. Almost everyday we hike down to the beach which is about a mile downhill, then we wander around either on the beach or in town, then we hike it back up again. It's good exercise and we get to discover all the nooks and crannies as we try different streets. Laguna Beach is an artistic community, so we see lots of examples of unique installations here and there among the houses. Check out these fun Yarn Bombed trees - they're so colorful!
