I posted a question on my facebook page: "Have you tried a new scrapbook technique lately?" and a friend commented that she had tried the sunburst effect.....so I googled and was instantly inspired with lots of images showing triangles flaring out from a central point. Cool - I think I can do this!
I printed a quick sketch to use as a guide, then lightly tacked it to patterned paper scraps. Once separated into triangle pieces, I soon realized I would need to piece them together again - duh! I printed a second guide to attach the patterned pieces to - trial by error - lol.
Once it was pieced together, I thought it needed some contrast so I folded each triangle to ink the edges with brown stamping ink.
hmmm...I wasn't sure how it would look best, so I made a template and moved it over the design to see how it looked best. I traced the rectangle shape with a pen before cutting it out.
I stuck the design to the front of a 4 X 5 card, made a pinwheel embellishment using my scoring board and a dimensional sticker and sentiment.
Patterned papers and sticker from our Blossom collection with K&Company. Thanks to Carol Taggio for inspiring me and giving me the jump start to try the sunburst effect!
